User Guide

1. Resource Creation and Configuration

1.1 Creating Bare Metal Servers

Applicable Scenarios: High-performance computing and AI training that require exclusive physical resources.
Operation Process:

  1. Log in to the Console: Navigate to the "Bare Metal" product page (https://console.cloudsway.net/cloudsvm/bms/server) and click "Create".

  • Basic Configuration:

  • Billing Method: Fixed as annual and monthly payment; a duration of 1 month to 3 years must be selected.

  • Region: Only regions with available inventory are displayed.

  • Configuration Specs: Select the product specification name (e.g., “bm.gn-rtx4090-x8.32xlarge.02”).

  • Storage and Images:

  • System Disk & Data Disk: The bare metal server provides the entire machine, no selection needed.

  • Operating System: Only public images (such as Ubuntu) are supported.

  • Network and Security:

  • VPC: Select a VPC in the same region (if not created, please go to the VPC page to create one).

  • Public IP: Choose whether to purchase; bandwidth must be manually entered (e.g., 10Mbps).

  • Resource Description and Quantity:

  • Add resource name and description, enter the quantity to purchase (default is 1 unit).

  • Submit Order: After confirming the configuration, generate an order. If the product does not require manual intervention, the resource will take effect immediately.

2. Resource Management Operations

2.1 Basic Operations

  • Power On/Off / Restart: Click the operation button on the resource list page, status will sync in real-time.

  • Resource Details: View base information such as instance ID, configuration specs, and expiration time (annual/monthly).

2.2 Unique Operations for Bare Metal

  • Rebuild System:

  • Supports changing the image; the IP remains unchanged after the operation.

3. Network and Storage Management

3.1 VPC and Subnets

  • Creating a VPC:

  • You need to specify the universally mapped area by the vendor (e.g., “xibei-1A”); subnet ranges will be automatically allocated by the system (customization is not supported).

  • Special Note: In the Malaysia region (KUL-1A), the internal subnet range needs to be entered according to the recommended network.

  • Subnet Management:

  • Each VPC can create multiple subnets, which are only used for resource binding and do not support cross-region or availability zone configuration.

3.2 Elastic Public IP (EIP)

  • Creating EIP:

  • The billing method is fixed as annual and monthly; bandwidth must be entered as needed (e.g., 100Mbps), and the region must match the resource.

  • Binding Resources:

  • Binding to Bare Metal: Only supports cloud servers or bare metals from the same vendor and region, and the resource must not be bound to another EIP.

  • Binding to NAT: In the Malaysia region (KUL-1A), EIP can only be bound to NAT, using NAT as the network exit for the bare metal server.

3.3 NAT (Currently Available Only in Malaysia Region KUL-1A)

  • Create DNAT: Go to the NAT gateway page, select create, choose the Malaysia region, and select the previously created VPC network.

DNAT Creation Entry and Creation Interface

  • Bind EIP to DNAT and create port mapping rules. (Tips: If you want to achieve a one-to-one effect between the private IP port of the bare metal and the public IP port, you can choose full port mapping.)

4. Metering

Metering and Billing

  • Metering Rules:

  • Annual and Monthly: Metering is calculated based on annual and monthly durations, starting after manual confirmation.

  • Pay-As-You-Go: Not yet available.

  • Bill Inquiry:

  • Go to the “Billing” page in the console, choose resource types (bare metal, Elastic IP), and view the bill.

5. Others

  • Resource Binding Limitations:

  • VPC, EIP, etc., must belong to the same vendor as the server; otherwise, binding cannot be completed.

  • Security group settings must be configured by the customer within the service.
